Given its terrain, Capri has many promontories.

Looking down one appreciates the abruptness with which the island rises out of the ocean.

Back at Alto, Corsica – Number 56, was the first of a new look in P-47’s. It had a bubble canopy and was silver, not painted Olive Drab. Such boldness! We must be winning the war.

Although we were confident enough to eliminate the camouflage paint job,
we still parked them in dispersed areas.
