In an attempt to save Jake, Wymond had landed on the beach and gotten stuck.
Here is his ship unstuck, serviced and ready to take off.

Our “Home Sweet Home” in the desert. This one is dug in and enjoys the shade of a tree.

Lt. Duke Ellington's P-40F 'No 61' during the assault on Mareth Line in March 1943 suffered flak damage from ground fire. Ellington turned out to sea, flew east to reach friendly territory.
